1360488 Hosepipe racks; load handling pallets, cradles REGENT MGK Ltd and UNIROYAL Ltd 14 July 1972 [19 May 1971] 15690/71 Headings B8M and B8H A pallet for carrying one or more hosepipes comprises a pair of rigid longitudinal members 1, 2 rigidly interconnected, e.g. by bars 3, 4, and pipe supporting members 16 each defining an arc extending transversely of the pallet between the longitudinal members, the pallet also including an end member 11, 13 at each end extending transversely of the pallet above the level of the lowest portion of the members 16. The longitudinal members 1,2 comprise central sections 1a, 2a and end sections 1b, 2b, the end sections 1b being longer than the end sections 2b. The pipe-supporting members 16 are concave plates abutted together to form a continuous trough. The end members are provided to prevent the hosepipe(s) sliding out of the pallet, one of the end members being removable to enable the hosepipe(s) to be slid into the pallet. The pallet is preferably made of metal, the pipesupporting members 16 being made of metal, plastics or canvas. Means, e.g. U-shaped clamps, may be provided to hold the pipes in the pallet, and a wire mesh screen may cover the top and sides of the pallet. Lugs 9 may be provided to link the pallet to a hoisting device.
