Abstract

1360309 Suction cleaners NATIONAL UNION ELECTRIC CORP 24 Feb 1972 [29 March 1971] 8661/72 Heading A4F A brush roller for use in a suction cleaner comprises a body member 22 to which is secured a drive pulley 25 at one end of a longitudinally extending groove 23 receiving a slidably mounted brush 28, which is restrained against movement in the groove 23 away from the pulley 25 by releasable retaining means. In the illustrated embodiment the retaining means comprises a detent 72 on the end of the plastics backing member 70 of the brush 28, the detent 72 being releasably engaged in a recess 77 in the pulley 25. A further brush 29 is similarly retained in a groove 24, the roller being provided with two pairs of grooves 23, 24 in which metal beater elements 26, 27 are also received.
