Abstract
1360055 Passenger conveyers P PATIN 12 July 1971 [21 July 1970] 32626/71 Heading B7L A platform 1, for a travelling platform conveyer in which the platforms slide over each other comprises parallel longitudinal fins 2, 3 and grooves 4, 5 on its upper face and on at least one terminal portion of its lower face respectively, the grooves 5 of the lower face being vertically in line with the fins 2 of the upper face, the upper part of the platform situated above the lower terminal portion terminating in a top chamfer which forms surfaces 6 each spanning two adjacent upper fins 2 and the lower fin 3 they straddle and each upper groove 4 situated between two adjacent surfaces 6 and the corresponding lower fin also terminating in a common chamfer 7 which is parallel to and below the plane of the surfaces 6. In use the platforms overlap each other and the extremities of the upper and lower fins 2, 3 are slightly tapered longitudinally as at 14, 15, to enable the conveyer to follow a curved path. At entry and exit points the platforms overlap each other and surfaces 6 form a horizontal where the speed of the conveyer is reduced and where passengers may get on and off the conveyer, the chamfers 7 then providing a passage for the teeth 8 of entry and/or exit rakes 9.
