Abstract
1360044 Sealing panel edges DE VRIES ROBBE & CO NV 27 Aug 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 40398/71 Heading E1W A sealing strip 18 for insertion between adjacent edges of single- or double-wall panels comprises an elongated resilient body 19 whose cross-section is substantially in the form of a rectangle and which has a plurality of ridges 20 of substantially triangular cross-section extending along its length and projecting outwards from each of the wider sides of the rectangle in inclined positions relative to the length of the body. The strip 18 is preferably of neoprene and where, as shown in Fig. 1, it is used between double-wall panels, has a single projection 25 or a double projection 22 extending perpendicularly from one or both of its wider sides, to act as a spacer between the panel walls. The strip may alternatively be made only in one form, having a single projection on one side and a keyway on the other side to receive a key on a detachable projection (Fig. 6, not shown). The strip may be hollow and have internal reinforcement (Fig. 5, not shown). Wall panels for use with the strip may comprise glass wool plates 12, 12', Fig. 2, fitted in metal frames formed by sheets 9 having double-bent flanges 10, 11 (Fig. 1) to retain the lateral edges adjacent the joining strips, the top edge of plate 12 and the bottom edge of plate 12' engaging upper and lower wood strips 13, 13', and a dividing plate 14 being fitted between the adjacent edges of the plates. The panelling is completed by lower and upper gutter-shaped members 15 16 respectively and floor plinths 17.
