Abstract

1359732 Two-part couplings LA TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE 21 June 1971 [22 June 1970] 29002/71 Heading H2E Selective interconnections between input assembly conductors X and output assembly conductors Y of a matrix for data-processing apparatus are made by jumper-wires 37 (which may include diodes 38) terminating in socket contacts 36 which mate with teeth 22 of comblike connectors 21 connected to conductors X and Y. The number of teeth per connector is less than the greater of the number of input connectors and the number of output connectors. As shown, the conductor assemblies comprise conductive strips 7 disposed on both sides of an insulating card 1 and terminating adjacent opposite edges of the card in terminal pads 9, 10 by means of which the conductors are connected to resilient contacts (not shown) in input and output edge connectors B and C 1 , C 2 ; card 1 is secured in edge connector B by means of a bolt 2. Each connector 21 is connected to a conductor 7 via a spring strip 27, the connector being clamped to the card 1 by insulating supports 20 which are bolted together. Insulating partitions 19 between adjacent conductors 7 may also be retained by supports 20. Additional connectors 21, not connected to conductors, may be provided to increase the interconnection capability of the arrangement. Connectors 21 and spring strips 27 may be coated with precious metal.
