1359183 Conduit fittings DANZER METAL WORKS CO Inc 23 Sept 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 44498/71 Heading H2E A cable conduit 20 has a rectangular collar 24 bolted or welded around an aperture 23 in a wall 22 of the conduit, and a detachable cover 43 which can be locked in position. Welded to the collar 24 is a channel bracket 30 with quarter-turn cam fasteners 31 having shanks 32 and locking heads 34. The cover 43 has a metallic gasket 58, three edge flanges 45 and a larger edge flange 47 which, with an L-shaped bar 48, forms a rectangular passage for a slidable locking bar 50. Circular holes 55 in the cover are aligned with slots 57 in the L-shaped bar, and in a first position of the locking bar 50 circular holes (56, Fig. 6B, not shown) therein are also aligned with the above openings. With the locking bar in this first position, the cover is placed over the aperture 23 and locking heads 34 pass through slots 57. A wrench (60, Fig. 3, not shown) which can pass through holes 55, (56) is then used to turn the heads 34 of the fasteners across the slots 57. The locking bar is then moved to a second position, in which its holes (56) are not aligned with the other openings, and is locked in this position by a padlock, the shackle of which passes through apertures (52, Fig. 2, not shown), 54 in the bar 50 and cover, respectively. The shanks 32 of the fasteners have notched indexing washers and when the fasteners are in one of their operative positions the notches are releasably engaged by spring arms (40, Fig. 9, not shown).
