[Class 44] [Also in Group XVIII] A manhole or like door 16 is clamped to the flange 15 of the manhole by a number of clamping devices 34, each of which comprises a spring - mounted member 29 rotatable upon a stud 30 projecting from the door 16. One end of the member is adapted to engage with the flange 15 and the other end slides in a grooved arcuate boss 36 on the door. A nut 32 is provided to lock the member in the clamping position.
