Abstract

The table is lowered to deposit the wires on conveyer belts 10 which are located in slots in the table and which feed the wires to disc cutters 6 spaced along shafts 4, 5 by sleeves 21, 22 which also act as pulleys for the belts 10 and discharge conveyer belts 13, 14. Each cutter pair has a pair of belts associated with it which clamp each successive length cut by that cutter pair between them and convey it to a magazine 15. The magazines are arranged in two staggered rows, alternate cutter pairs carrying their lengths to the upper and the lower row. Coils 16 may be sheared to form the initial wire stock by pivoted shears 2 which may be hand operated. The cutter shafts 4, 5 are driven by a motor 7.
