Abstract

1358971 Centrifuge tube T PATES and D LACY 29 March 1972 [11 Jan 1971] 1169/71 Heading B2P [Also in Divisions B8 and G2] A transluscent or transparent plastics container used for preparing specimens for electron microscopy or as a centrifuge tube comprises a main tubular body portion 10 having either a conical end portion 18 or a reduced-diameter tubular extension terminating in a flat, conical or pyramidal tip, and as integral longitudinal tear strip 24, which is connected by an integral strap 28 to a cap 26. A circumferential opening 16 is provided in the upper body portion extending beyond a peripheral flange 14. Four internal planar facets 20, Fig. 2 (not shown), are provided at the conical end portion 18.
