Abstract

1358363 Laminates TH GOLDSCHMIDT AG 24 Nov 1972 [4 Dec 1971] 54486/72 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] A base material in the form of a sheet impregnated with a solution of a phenolformaldehyde resin containing as parting agent 0À2-5% by weight of Turkey-red oil, is dried, laid on a panel of a wood-based material and subjected to conditions of temperature and pressure such as to cure the resin and bond the base material to the panel. The impregnating solution is preferably aqueous; the base material may be a web of paper or a glass fibre fleece; the panel may be plywood or chipboard. In Examples 4 and 5 an impregnated unbleached kraft paper is bonded to a 3-ply birchwood panel using aluminium platen presses.
