Abstract

1357988 Heat-sensitive stencil sheet RISO KAGAKU CORP 15 Sept 1972 [18 Oct 1971] 42848/72 Heading G2C A heat-sensitive stencil sheet comprises a printing screen and a heat-shrinkable stretched thermoplastic film adhered to the printing screen, the heat-shrinkable film having light-absorptive particles coated on a surface, e.g. in an adhesive layer between the screen and the film, and/or dispersed internally thereof, which particles generate heat on absorption of light. The heatshrinkable film may be an inflation moulded film of a copolymer of vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride and may have a softening point of 160‹C or below. The printing screen may have 10 to 300 meshes and comprise natural or synthetic fibres or metal filaments. The particles may be carbon black, sulphur black, silver chloride or silver bromide. The stencil may be imagewise exposed to light, using an incandescent lamp, infrared ray lamp, photo-flash lamp or flash discharge tube, through an original film which may be dipped in a transparent liquid for cooling e.g. an aqueous solution containing surface active agents.
