1357955 Dichloroquinizarin; quinizarin di(borocarboxylates) IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 10 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 17714/71 Headings C2C and C2B 5,8-Dichloroquinizarin is prepared by reacting a quinizarin di(boro C 1-4 alkyl carboxylate) with chlorine in oleum and subsequently hydrolysing off the boron-containing groups. Quinizarin di(boro C 1-4 alkyl carboxylates) are prepared by adding boric acid to the appropriate acid anhydride and then adding quinizarin.
