1357755 Dental apparatus SIEMENS AG 5 Aug 1971 [6 Aug 1970] 36958/71 Heading A5R [Also in Division B8] A device 3 which may be used with a dental instrument 10 comprises a pivotable arm 8 for supporting the instrument and a supply line 9, a support 5, and springs 6 for returning the arm from a working position when treating a patient, Figure 3 (not shown) to its rest position. The support comprises a bearing sleeve 13 pivotally connected about a pin 14. The pivoting range is about 60‹ of rotation which is defined by a limiting screw 16 in an aperture 15. A spring arrangement including springs 6 and a bridge-piece 7 allows the arm 8 to move transversely of the path of movement between the rest and working positions. In the rest position the arm 8 lies on an abutment pin 12 and the instrument 10 is held in a housing trough 11 separately from the support. Further devices may be secured to the free end of the pivot pin 14 via a connecting disc 18 and further pin 19. Pins 14, 19 are provided with an axial passage 20, 21 through which electrical connections may be made with a setting device 22 for controlling operation of the dental instrument. In addition to springs 6, a torsion spring 42 may be arranged between sleeve 13 and pin 14 to provide additional biassing to return the arm to its rest position.
