Abstract
1356694 Cable armouring INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 17 Nov 1971 [17 Nov 1970] 53289/71 Heading H1A A cable core enclosed in a seamless metallic, e.g. lead, aluminium, sheath 11 has a protective layer which includes a corrugated strip 13 (e.g. of soft steel) extending longitudinally of the cable, wrapped around the metal sheath. Preferably the protective layer includes plastics coverings 12 and 15 and an anticorrosive layer 14 of varnish or of bituminous composition. The corrugations extend at least partially into the plastics layers which may be of polyethylene or P.V.C. and may be applied by extrusion.
