Abstract
1355613 Multi-colour electro-photography RANK XEROX Ltd 24 March 1972 [30 March 1971] 13845/72 Heading G2H The multi-colour image on a plate 26 is resolved into its three components and the component images are transmitted through optical fibres 12-1, 12-2 and 12-3 for separate domains A, B and C in a charged photo-conductive drum 10. The three images are developed in their appropriate colours by developer means 13-1, 13-2 and 13-3 and the coloured toner images are transferred successively and in register to a drum 15 from where they are printed on to copy paper 19. The original may be scanned as the drum 10 rotates so that the images are progressively formed on its surface. Resolution of the three component images may be achieved by the use of filters in the light paths of the optical fibres or by colouring the fibres. Various types of developer means including one which employs a solid briquette of toner are also described.
