1354580 Biochemical treatment of macro-fungi growth substrates LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VALLALAT 24 May 1971 [2 June 1970] 16606/71 Heading C6F A process for preparing growth substrates for edible or other macro-fungi comprises subjecting cellulosic plant material containing at least 50 per cent moisture by weight under aerobic conditions to the action of natural or added cellulose-decomposing thermophilic organisms for a first period at 60‹ to 70‹C and then for a second period at 45-58‹C until a substrate suitable for the desired growth but protected against growth of competing organisms by metabolic products of the thermophilic organisms is obtained. Examples detail the production of Pleurotus ostreatus, P. eryngii and agaric.
