Abstract

Open fire-places; air-heating stoves; grates.-An air-heating stove of the kind which causes an inflow of heated fresh air and an outflow of foul air comprises an approximately semi-annular chamber f<2> heated by a removable fire-grate c. The air enters by an inlet f, and passes round the sides of the fire-place to outlets f<3>. Foul air enters by passages e<1> beneath these outlets, and passes up flues e<2> surrounding the air-heating chamber f<2> and the flue d, and finally into the atmosphere together with the products of combustion. The grate c, the ash-pan, and the front c<1> are made as or combined together to form one removable piece. Specifications 123,493, [Class 25. Chimneys &c.], and 126,232 are referred to.
