1353192 Positive detents for wheels or rollers KUGELFABRIK SCHULTE & CO 25 June 1971 29857/71 Heading F2E A fixed-axle wheel or roller assembly, or castor wheel or roller assembly is automatically locked by a pendulum component adapted to swing on a linear pivot and having locking teeth engaging teeth on the wheel or roller so that a pendulum tooth engages a wheel or roller tooth when the pendulum is permitted to swing from a released position. On a smooth flow, a single wheel or roller is locked when its support is at an angle by a pendulum comprising two spaced lateral plates, each with two locking teeth, pivoted above the wheel axis, or a bell-profiled plate with two teeth, or an arcuate plate 48 with two teeth or with an angle lever 50 having the teeth 51, Fig. 13, or two half-segments, coupled by horizontal links, having teeth. Fig. 19 shows two wheels 61 locked by an annular disc pendulum 62 supported by a pin 64 on a vertical support 66, the pendulum edge carrying the locking teeth 67. Similarly, such pendulums are mounted internally of respective single wheels, one or two such pendulums carrying teeth which engage with teeth in a single or double boss in the associated wheel. An inclined wheels 81, Fig. 28, similarly carries an annular disc pendulum 82. The locking teeth only hold the wheel or roller in one (downward) direction.
