Abstract
1352362 Isothermal electric generators INSTITUTUL DE CERCETARI ENERGETICE INDUSTRIALE SI PROIECTARI UTILAJE ENERGETICE 1 Sept 1971 [11 Sept 1970] 40837/71 Heading H1K An isothermal generator comprises a thin layer of semi-conductor material provided with two electrodes of dissimilar metals having different work functions. In a first embodiment the device is formed on a support of stainless steel by successively depositing by vacuum evaporation a layer of one electrode metal, a thin layer of semi-conductor material and a second, different, electrode metal. A second stainless steel support is pressed against the second electrode. In a second embodiment the electrodes are evaporated on to opposite faces of a thin slice of semi-conductor material which is then clamped between two supports. A plurality of such devices may be connected in series and such an arrangement is described with reference to Fig. 6 (not shown) which utilizes a thermally lagged enclosure within which the stainless steel supports are heated by burning gasses.
