Abstract
1352280 Headers MODINE MFG CO 24 Nov 1972 [17 Jan 1972] 54402/72 Heading F4S A header construction for a tubular heat exchanger 10 incorporates a header plate 16 which is held in position by a mounting comprising a flat base 13 from two opposite edges of which extend a pair of spaced parallel side members 12 each provided with two sets 14 and 15 of inwardly extending lugs spaced apart to engage opposite faces of the header plate 16 therebetween. The mounting serves to hold the plate 16 against movement prior to permanently joining the plate to the header. Individual header tanks 18, 19 and 20 surround the ends of the tubes 17 whereby fluid entering through an inlet 22 is constrained to flow through the tubes before leaving through an outlet 23.
