1352059 Disperse monoazo dyes SANDOZ Ltd 27 April 1971 [6 May 1970 29 Dec 1970] 11676/71 Heading C4P New disperse monoazo dyes of formula wherein R 1 signifies a chlorine or bromine atom, a cyano or nitro group or an unsubstituted or substituted alkylsulphonyl or phenylsulphonyl radical, R 2 signifies a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom or a cyano group, R 3 signifies a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom or an acylamino radical, provided that at least one of R 2 or R 3 is hydrogen, R 4 signifies a hydrogen atom or an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or alkoxy radical, R 5 signifies an unsubstituted alkyl radical or an alkyl radical substituted by one or more substituents selected from chlorine, bromine, cyano, hydroxyl, alkoxy, chloroalkoxy, bromoalkoxy, cyanoalkoxy and unsubstituted and substituted alkylcarbonyloxy, benzoyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, phenoxycarcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyloxy and phenoxycarbonyloxy, R 6 signifies an alkylene radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 7 signifies an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl radical, X signifies a group of the formula -CO-, -COO- or -SO 2 -, which compound is free from sulphonic acid groups, are prepared by azo coupling and are used to colour synthetic and semi-synthetic, in particular polyester, fibres in red, blue and brown shades.
