Abstract

1349003 Disperse monoazo dyes SANDOZ Ltd 27 April 1971 [6 May 1970 29 Dec 1970] 11708/71 Heading C4P New disperse monoazo dyes free from SO 3 H groups, of formula wherein R 1 is Cl, Br, CN, NO 2 or alkyl- or phenylsulphonyl which may be substituted, R 2 is H, Cl or Br, R 3 is H, Cl, Br or acylamino provided that at least one of R 2 and R 3 is H, R 4 is H or alkyl or alkoxy which may be substituted, R 5 and R 6 are alkyl which may be substituted by Cl, Br, CN, OH, alkoxy, chloroalkoxy, bromoalkoxy, cyanoalkoxy or unsubstituted or substituted alkylcarbonyloxy, benzoyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, phenoxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyloxy and phenoxycarbonyloxy, R 7 is alkyl which may be substituted, X is -CO-, -COO- or -SO 2 - and n is 2, 3 or 4 are prepared by azo coupling using appropriate components. The dyes are used to colour cellulose ester, polyolefin, polyamide and in particular polyester fibres in red and blue shades.
