Abstract
1351767 Colour reversal development of photographic silver halide materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 12 July 1973 18382/71 Heading G2C A photosensitive colour silver halide material containing three silver halide emulsion layers sensitive to red, green and blue light respectively, the binder for the silver halide comprising gelatine and a water-soluble polymer or copolymer (average molecular weight 5, 000- 3, 000, 000) having a repeated unit structure of the formula:- wherein R 1 and R 2 are each H or methyl; R 3 is H or 1-4C alkyl; and x is at least 10 and not more than 100, is exposed and subjected to reversal development, the colour developers containing an aromatic primary amine colour developing agent and a colour coupler which is a yellow open-chain ketomethylene coupler, a cyan phenolic coupler or a magenta pyrazolene coupler. The silver halide is preferably silver bromoiodide. The polymer or copolymer may be polyacrylamide or acrylamide-acrylic acid, acrylamide-methacrylic acid, methacrylamideacrylic acid, methacrylamide-methacrylic acid or methacrylamide-ethyl methacrylate copolymer. Using this method, which increases the density obtained in the reversal colour images, more efficient colour reproduction is effected and a thinner emulsion layer may be used. It is also possible to improve sharpness and to economise on the halide in the emulsion layer. Specification 1181078 is referred to.
