Abstract

1351190 Impregnating fibre slivers PAVENA AG 7 Oct 1971 [12 Oct 1970] 46711/71 Heading D1L Apparatus substantially identical to that claimed and described in co-pending Specification 1351189 is used in a process for impregnating fibre slivers in which a fibre arrangement passes through a converging nip formed by the circumferential surfaces of a pair of discs and lateral limiting walls and is compacted into a fibre sliver in an adjacent hydrodynamic zone, and the impregnating liquid is introduced at the faces of the discs under pressure and is transported by the discs to the converging nip where it forms a coating of liquid surrounding the fibre sliver and is pressed into the fibre sliver by the discs.
