Abstract

1351121 Creels; knitting machines TMM (RESEARCH) Ltd 19 April 1971 [13 Feb 1970] 7097/70 Headings D1C and D1J A creel supports textile bobbins in a configuration which is generally U-shaped when viewed in plan, the U-shape having a generally semi-circular portion linking generally parallel side limbs. In Fig. 2 upper and lower U-shaped rails 5 are interconnected by vertically extending posts 1. Each post carries spaced brackets 8 that support bobbins 13 on balloon springs 12. Within the rails 5 are inner U-shaped rails 6 that carry a plurality of thread tensioning units 14. The threads from the bobbins are drawn off via two horizontal drive rollers 15 and 16 before engaging a horizontal oiling roller 17 running in an oil bath 18. The creel is stated to be particularly applicable for use with a circular knitting machine, the limbs of the U-shaped rails 5 extending towards the knitting machine.
