Abstract

1350657 Centrifugal pumps PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN N V 16 June 1971 [19 June 1970] 28144/71 Heading F1C A removable closing device for a pump casing 8, Fig. 1, comprises a cylindrical extension 1 of the pump casing, a cover 2, 3 which seals against an annular flat or conical surface 4, and closing members which comprise a cam surface 15, Fig. 3a, and a segment 11, Fig. 2b, capable of moving over the cam surface, each cam surface 15 comprising ring segments 152, 153 joined by a helical part 151. The segments 11 are formed on the extension and the cam surfaces 15 are formed on the cover part 2 or vice versa. When the cover part 2 is turned by means of a handle 18, the cam surfaces 15 ride along the segments 11 until an abutment 154 on each cam surface is reached, so that the cover part 3 is pressed against the annular surface 4. A seal ring 30 is provided. A projection 155 on each cam surface forms a detent to lock the cover part 3 in place. Resilient members 20 engaging a rim 22 unite the cover parts 2 and 3 while permitting relative rotation. A locking-pin may be passed through the handle 18 and holes 13.
