Abstract
1420521 Piston rings DOWTY SEALS Ltd 21 Dec 1973 [18 Jan 1973] 2552/73 Heading F2T The turns of an anti-extrusion ring of generally helical configuration are formed as separate ring elements 37, 38 and united, at a position 41, remote from radial splits 39 and 40. The ring elements 37, 38 may be of hard nylon, which is welded ultrasonically at 41. Two such rings seat in grooves between a rubber piston ring (14, Fig. 1, not shown) and two split bearing rings (28, 29) of hard nylon.
