Abstract
1350579 Rolling mill guides HILLE ENG CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [20 May 1970] 24485/70 Heading B3M A roller twist guide for a rod rolling mill includes a pair of guide rollers and a stripper nose which is adjustably mounted relative to the rollers. The rollers are carried in a bush 18, Fig. 1, which can be rotatably adjusted in a supporting base 10 by a worm 26. The nose is held by arms 38 which extend from the base adjacent the exit side of a pair of grooved rolls. A pair of wedges 40 co-operate with the nose to permit axial adjustment of the nose, the wedges being connected to a common adjusting screw 46. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 4, the nose is adjustable by a pivoted ring 58 whose upper end 54 is acted upon by a screw assemble 62. The ring acts against abutments 60 formed on the nose. In both arrangements it is possibly to adjust the stripper nose during operation of the mill.
