Abstract
1349829 Mobile slueing cranes CLARK EQUIPMENT CO 14 June 1972 [1 July 1971] 27731/72 Heading B8B [Also in Division F2] A crane superstructure is attached by its base 20 to outer race 21 of a slueing bearing the inner race 22 being detachably secured to vehicle bed 13 by wedges 40. The inner race 22 has a number of tangs 37 each of which passes through a corresponding slot 43 in the bed 13. Each tang 40 has a slot 38 with a lower inclined bearing surface 39 engaged by its wedge 40 which also bears on the lower surface of the bed 13. The wedges 40 are inserted by hydrauic jack or sledge hammer and each is retained in position by a cross-bar 49 held by bolts 48 threadedly engaging the tang 37. Rotational movement of the inner race 22 is prevented by bolts 58, 62 with nuts 59, 63 and washers 60, 64 respectively associated with bed frame members 53, 53a and engaging the sides of the tang 36. Each wedge 40 has a tapped hole 50 to assist withdrawal when the superstructure with slueing bearing attached is removed from the vehicle bed 13 for transport. As shown the outer race 21 is in two sections 23, 24 and the inner race 21 has a thrust flange 29. Split roller bearings 31, 32 are held in place by respective retainers 33, 34 above and below the thrust flange 29. Side roller bearings 35 are located between the side of the thrust flange 29 and an annular channel 25 formed in the outer race 21.
