Abstract

1348934 Mounting combs N SCHLUMBERGER & CIE 9 Nov 1971 [19 Nov 1970] 51926/71 Heading D1N In a combing machine strips of needles 4 glued between cheeks 5 are located in a step cut in the side of a recess in the combing cylinder 1 and held by a clamp 21 fixed by screws 22. The projection of the needles may be set by shims 13 and 33 positioned behind the needles and clamps respectively. The clamps may be recessed and locate over a shortened upper cheek 5c, Fig. 5. The upper cheek may also extend rearwardly of the needles to substantially the entire length of the clamp, Fig. 4 (not shown). The depth of the step is slightly less than the thickness of the needle strip to ensure positive clamping.
