Abstract

1347989 Containers; packaging A J SHARP 12 Sept 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 49011/71 Headings B8P and B8C A container erected from a moulded plastics blank (Fig. 1) comprises walls 2 folded up from a base 1 and strengthening flanges 4A along the upper edges of the walls 2. The strengthening flanges 4A may be such that they do not project outwardly beyond the walls 2 (Fig. 5) and they may extend inwardly so as to almost completely close the container (Fig. 6). The walls 2 may be curved so as to be complementary to the shape of the packaged product (Figs. 11 and 12). The container walls may be welded or adhered to each other along their adjacent edges or the container may be held erect by means of a cover 5. The cover 5 may be a sheet sealed to the flanges 4A or it may comprise a lid (Figs. 7-10) having downwardly extending flanges engaging the walls 2.
