Abstract

1347700 Printing plates XEROX CORP 19 April 1971 [3 Feb 1970] 20805/71 Heading B6C [Also in Divisions G2-G3 and C3] In a method of imaging a lithographic plate a latent electrostatic image on its surface is developed by contacting the surface with a developer composition containing polyarylene polyether particles which are attracted to the surface in conformance with the latent image. The plate is a non-oleophilic substrate used for greasy inks as the polyarylene polyethers are oleophilic. The image may be fixed on an etchable substrate which is then etched, as the polyarylene polyether is acid resistant, the fixed image subsequently being removed with an organic solvent.
