Abstract

1347572 Power hammers AIR LOGISTICS CORP 11 June 1971 [15 June 1970] 27405/71 Heading B3H [Also in Divisions B7 and E1] A device for mounting on the supporting legs of an offshore structure (see Division E1) for comminuting an ice floe comprises longitudinally reciprocating mandrels 47 with cutting teeth 48 for impacting on the ice, the mandrels being reciprocated by hydraulic or pneumatic motors 46, and being mounted on a sleeve 41 slidable on the supporting leg 18. The sleeve 41 is movable up and down the leg by rods 43, a pin 45 on the leg engaging a helical groove 44 in the sleeve to rotate the sleeve during its movement.
