Abstract
1347418 Vehicles AUTOLAVA OY 28 April 1972 [28 April 1971] 19889/72 Heading B7B A truck having a demountable body 17 is provided at the rear of the chassis with a unit comprising guide rails 9 to engage the body and friction wheels 3 to move the body relative to the chassis which are mounted on the drive-shaft 2 of an hydraulic motor 1. The whole unit is pivoted to the chassis by means of side-plates 6 on the unit, lugs 13 on the chassis and pivot pins 5 and may be raised and lowered by rams 10. In mounting, the truck chassis is backed up under the body 17 which stands on front legs 19 and rear legs 20 and the unit is set at the desired height by rams 10. The guide rails 9 guide bars 18, located beneath the body 17, on to the friction wheels 3 which at this stage are undriven but free to rotate. The front legs 19 now leave the ground and are folded up under the body 17. When the centre of mass of the body is nearly above the wheels 3, the wheels 3 are driven to move the body almost completely into place on the chassis, the final positioning being by further means. The rear legs 20 are folded towards each other.
