Abstract

1341767 Removable vehicle bodies H VETTER 19 April 1971 [15 April 1970] 26994/71 Heading B7B A removable body 21, carried by a chassis 1, has a front lifting device 12 permanently fixed to the body and rear jacks 18 for engaging the ground, the jacks and lifting device being synchronously operated for lowering the body to the ground. Two supports 11 of U-shape are connected by a cross-bar and guide rollers 15 of a carriage 13 actuated hydraulically or mechanically to raise the body 21. The jacks 18 are built into the rear corners of the body. The body is secured to the chassis by spring loaded locking bars 6 engaged by lugs 17 on the body. Let down legs (19), Fig. 9 (not shown), support the front end of a body removed from the chassis. In a modification, Fig. 12, the body is tipped by a lifting ram 24.
