Abstract
1346970 Lysine STAMICARBON NV 11 Sept 1972 [22 Sept 1971] 42125/72 Heading C2C A process for preparing lysine and/or lysine carbonate comprises hydrolysing 5-(4-aminobutyl)hydantoin with calcium hydroxide at a temperature of from 150‹ to 230‹ C. at an elevated pressure, treating the reaction product mixture obtained with carbon dioxide at a pressure lower than the hydrolysing pressure and at a temperature below 150‹ C., and recovering a solution of lysine and/or lysine carbonate by removing the resulting calcium carbonate precipitate.
