1316277 Production of polyhalophenols COALITE & CHEMICAL PRODUCTS Ltd 23 Nov 1971 [18 Dec 1970] 60304/70 Heading C2C Phenols containing at least three halogen atoms in the molecule are prepared by subjecting a tetrahalobenzene, pentahalobenzene or hexahalobenzene to alkaline hydrolysis in a glycol containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms in the molecule, and recovering the glycol from the reaction mixture before liberating polyhalophenols.
