1316415 Preparation of tetrabromo bisphenol A LUNEVALE PRODUCTS Ltd 12 Aug 1970 [19 Aug 1969] 41272/69 Heading C2C Tetrabromo bisphenol A is prepared by reacting from 2 to less than 4 molar proportions of bromine with one molar proportion of bisphenol A in a solvent comprising an aliphatic alcohol, introducing chlorine into the reaction mixture to effect complete bromination, and recovering tetrabromo bisphenol A precipitated from the reaction mixture.
