Abstract

1345981 Separating sheets GLORY KOGYO KK 24 Nov 1972 [30 Nov 1971] 54470/72 Heading B8R Sheet separating apparatus comprises a suction head 6 and a vacuum pump with a first on/off valve 11 between them. A second on/off valve 12 between the head and the first valve, communicates with atmosphere. An electric control circuit (Fig. 4) operates the valves 11 and 12, so that at the end of a feed sequence, the vacuum in head 6 is rapidly returned to atmospheric pressure thereby reducing the chances of a fake separation from the stack (2, Fig. 1). A rotary valve 15 driven by motor M controls the intermittent application of the vacuum to the head 6 during a normal feed sequence. The separator is used in bank note dispensing apparatus in which a number of stacks are mounted around a drum (Fig. 1).
