Abstract

1344167 Strap fastener R RICHMOND 19 Jan 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 3763/71 Headings E2A and E2B The invention relates to a clamping device for holding a length of flexible material when under tension, the arrangement being such that the position at which the device engages the material may be varied when tension is relieved in the material. The device comprises a U- shaped member 1, 2, 3 which straddles a support bar formed by an attachment element 7. Each limb 1, 2 of the member has a pair of apertures 4, 5, one end of the flexible material being passed through the aperture 5 of the two limbs 1, 2 so as to form a loop 6' the other end of the length of flexible material after the positioning of a further attachment element 10 on the length being passed through the aperture 4. Tension of the length of flexible material then causes the material to be caught between the support bar and the inner surfaces of the U-shaped member. The limb 1, 2 of the member may be hinged to the hose 3 thereof. A hand grip 9 is provided.
