Abstract

1343603 Brushes XEROX CORP 21 Dec 1970 [30 Dec 1969] 60540/70 Heading A4K [Also in Division G2] A brush comprises short conductive fibres distributed among long insulating fibres whereby the insulating fibres can contact an image bearing surface to deposit toner thereon while the conductive fibres (optionally electrically biased) remain out of contact and act as a development electrode. Steel and rayon fibres are preferred. The brush is made by weaving a fabric with a pile comprising insulating fibres wound around conductive fibres, cutting the pile, and then allowing the insulating fibres to unwind so that they extend beyond the conducting fibres.
