Abstract
1343504 Carbon fibres TOHO BESLON KK 13 Dec 1971 [25 Dec 1970 (2)] 57814/71 Heading C1A [Also in Division B5] Carbon fibres are obtained by heating fibres of acrylonitrile copolymer at 2,500‹ C. for 2 hours in argon, after a heat treatment at 250‹ C. for 10 hours. The acrylonitrile fibres contain less than 5% by weight of a comonomer such as methylacetate. The fibres also contain from 10 to 50% by weight of moisture and, preferably from 0À1 to 1À0% of zinc.
