Abstract

1343132 Ventilating headwear PLYSU Ltd 24 May 1972 [5 March 1971] 6157/71 Heading A3V A protective thermoplastic hood for use with suits for wear when working with toxic materials comprises a top portion having a double skin, 1, 2, the double skin including an annular preformed duct 4 having an inlet provided by a skirt 5 for connection to an air supply and a number of apertures or a slit (not shown) positioned such that in use air from the duct is directed downwards across a wearer's face (see arrows in Fig. 2). The hood is formed by welding together the two skins 1, 2, 'the inner of which is provided with a ridge 3 to form the duct 4. In place of the skirt 5, the air inlet may be provided as a separate air inlet part leading to the duct 4.
