Abstract

1342639 Venturi gas scrubber CHEMICAL CONSTRUCTION CORP 26 May 1971 17180/ 71 Heading B1R The throat apertures of the annular venturi scrubber formed between conical baffles 10, 11 and the casing 5, 16 is adjustable by rotating handle 15, whereby the spatial relationship of vanes 12 attached to baffle 10 is varied with respect to vanes 13 attached to the casing. Wash liquid is fed to the scrubber tangentially through pipes 6 and axially through pipe 7 and nozzle 9, while gas to be scrubbed free from entrained matter enters through conduit 2. In Fig. 6 (not shown), an alternative form of axial nozzle imparting both tangential and axial flow to the wash liquid is illustrated. (For Figures see next column)
