Abstract

1341950 Guns with revolving magazine INDUSTRIE-WERKE KARLSRUHE AUGSBURG 21 Aug 1972 [26 Aug 1971] 38843/72 Heading F3C A gun has a revolving magazine 1, Fig. 1, for holding cartridges 5, and a barrel 4 both of which are mounted in a housing 3, the magazine 1 having annular grooves 1b, Fig. 3, in an end face 1c thereof, each of which surrounds a respective magazine chamber 1i and has a seal 6 therein. In use the firing of the gun causes pressurized gas to pass from the chamber li to the respective annular groove 1b, via bores 1a in the magazine, thus causing the seal 6 to be urged against an end face 4b of the barrel 4 and sealing of the inner and outer side walls of the annular groove 1b to be effected. The seal 6 is provided with retaining lugs 6c, Fig. 4, and is made of a hard metal. The deforming of the magazine due to the pressurized gas in its chamber 1i also contributes to the sealing effect.
