Abstract

1341692 Doors A A S SHARP 19 April 1971 [17 Jan 1970] 2395/70 Heading E1J A door comprises a rigid core 1 or 4 between decorative members, the core being not greater than half the total thickness of the door. The core comprises an apertured sheet 1 or a frame 4 with braces (5) and is surrounded by an outer frame 6. A lock 7 is secured in a recess in the core by strips 8. Decorative members comprise carpeting 12, 15 with rigid backing sheet 13 and frames 14, 16. The core may be embedded in the members or comprise a cellular layer (20, Fig. 6, not shown) with frame (21) and sheets (22). The members may be of metal, plaster, plastics, cloth or ceramics. In Fig. 7 (not shown) a member includes a sound adsorbent layer (29) of quilting or foamed or granular material.
