Abstract

1341398 Exhaust silencers SOUND ATTENUATORS Ltd 5 Oct 1971 [6 Oct 1970] 47422/70 Heading F1B [Also in Divisions B5 and F2] For sound attenuating purposes, air ducts may be lined and "splitters" and "pods" supported across an air duct may be faced on all surfaces, with pads of fibrous material covered on those surfaces which contact the moving gas stream with a woven net of flexible non-metallic fibres, the apertures of the net having an average edge dimension of 0À3-5 mm. Preferred materials are resin bonded glass fibres for the pad; lutumenbonded woven glass fibres for the net; and a neoprene based or rubber nitrile adhesive to attach the net to the pad.
