Abstract

1341251 Thermal regenerators; air conditioning CARL MUNTERS AB 19 April 1971 [13 April 1970] 26319/71 Headings F4K and F4V A rotor for a rotary regenerative heat and/or moisture exchanger comprises a plurality of prefabricated units of transfer material located in sector-shaped compartments defined by a plurality of spokes 14 extending radially outwardly from a central hub 10. The compartments are closed by arcuate plates 30 which are connected to the spokes 14 through bars 32. The spokes are detachably connected to the outer surface of the hub 10 by U-shaped retainer members 18. The units are made up of layers of. alternate plane and corrugated sheets, e.g. of asbestos or cellulosed paper. The sheets may be impregnated with a hygroscopic substance, e.g. lithium chloride, when moisture is to be exchanged. Each prefabricated unit can be subdivided into several portions, a subdivision into two portions 38, 40 being shown in Fig. 2. The units are formed with recesses 44 adapted to receive metal strips 34 which are secured to the exposed edges of the spokes.
