Abstract

1340933 Terry looms RUTI MACHINERY WORKS Ltd 22 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 10836/71 Heading D1E [Also in Division F2] In a terry loom, the let off motion for the terry warp beam includes a two-speed transmission for changing from three-pick to four pick weaving comprising a rotating driving gear 11 meshing with a drive wheel 13 which has integral therewith two transmission gears 14 and 15 of different diameters. The drive wheel 13 and transmissions gears 14, 15 are rotatably mounted on a bush 22 which is eccentrically mounted on a shaft 23, such that the bush may be rotated to one of two angular positions and slid along shaft 23 so that a selected one of gears 14 and 15 meshes with an output gear 16. Output gear 16 has a cam groove 19 and a cam surface 18 controlling pivoted arms 28 and 27 which control a warp beam brake and advance the warp threads respectively.
