Abstract
1340721 Multi-storey buildings; erection thereof O D NAVARRETE-KINDELAN 8 Sept 1971 [18 Sept 1970] 41966/71 Headings E1A and E1S A method of erecting a multi-storey building comprises the steps of first constructing a tower 12 of re-inforced concrete with a platform 20 thereon, installing a lifting arrangement 26, 28, 34, 36 lifting a prefabricated room unit 14, see also Fig. 2 (not shown), to the underside of the platform and securing it thereto and to the tower 12, see also Fig. 7 (not shown), lifting a second room-unit into position on the opposite side of the building to that of the first unit and positioning it in like manner, lifting a third room-unit to the underside of the first two room units and securing it to the laterally-projecting ends thereof and to the tower and then repeating this operation in sequence. The tower may contain stairways, the elevator and service conduits and the re-inforced concrete room units may likewise contain service facilities. In a modification, see Fig. 10 (not shown) the room units are secured to four towers. For numerous minor details of joints, room units, platform &c the Specification, and remaining drawings, (not shown), should be referred.
